Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.

Profile Data: Age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and dietary preferences that you provide during onboarding.

Meal Data: Photos of meals (processed server-side for AI analysis, not stored permanently on our servers), nutrition logs, barcode scan results, and text/voice meal descriptions.

Health & Fitness Data: Weight entries, water intake, fasting sessions, body measurements, and progress photos that you voluntarily log.

Usage Data: App interaction data for analytics purposes to improve the user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI-powered nutrition analysis of your meals
• To calculate personalized calorie targets and macro ratios
• To generate meal recommendations and meal plans
• To track your nutrition history, streaks, and progress
• To sync your data across devices
• To send you optional meal reminders and notifications
• To improve our AI analysis accuracy and app functionality

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage). All data transmission is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Meal photos sent for AI analysis are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our analysis servers.

Data is hosted in the European Union (europe-west1) region.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, cloud storage, and cloud functions
• Google Analytics for Firebase: Anonymous usage analytics
• OpenAI API: AI-powered meal analysis (via server-side cloud functions only; your data is not shared with OpenAI for training purposes)
• OpenFoodFacts & USDA: Barcode and food nutrition databases

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide the app's functionality.

If you use social/community features, your shared meals and profile name will be visible to other users.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the app
• Correct your personal information via the Profile settings
• Delete your account and all associated data (Profile > Settings > Delete Account)
• Export your nutrition data via weekly PDF reports
• Opt out of notifications via your device settings

7. Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions:

• Camera: To photograph meals for AI analysis and scan barcodes
• Microphone: For voice-based meal logging
• Photo Library: To select existing photos for analysis and save progress photos
• Speech Recognition: To convert voice input to text for meal descriptions
• Notifications: For meal reminders, fasting alerts, and streak notifications

All permissions are optional. The app will ask before accessing each feature, and you can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

MacroLens is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
